Maa Saraswati, jinhe hum Vidya, Gyan, Sangeet aur Kala ki Devi maante hain, unka yeh swaroop behad shant aur divya hai. Unhe Sharada, Veenapani, aur Vagdevi jaise kai naamo se jaana jaata hai. Unka har prateek ek gehra adhyatmik arth rakhta hai. Unka shwet rang, jaise ki unke vastra aur kamal ka aasan, satogun ko darshata hai, jo saaf-suthrepan, shuddhta, aur gyan ka prateek hai. Unki upasna se agyanta ka andhkar mit-ta hai aur gyan ka prakash failta hai, isliye vidyarthi, kalakar, aur sangeetkar apne jeevan mein safalta aur siddhi ke liye unka aashirwad lete hain.

Unke paas hi, kamal ki pankhudiyon ke beech, ek chote lakdi ke stand par ek khuli hui pustak rakhi hai, jiske pannon par Sanskrit jaise akshar likhe hain. Yeh drishya ek vishal mandir ke andar ka hai, jahan farsh halke rang ke chamakdar marble ka bana hai. Maa Saraswati theek beech mein ek bade, kalatmak roop se tarashe gaye chandi ke mehraab (archway) ke saamne baithi hain. Yeh mehraab chamakti hui roshniyon aur gende ke phoolon (marigolds) ki lambi malaon se saja hua hai. Kamal ke aasan ke neeche, farsh par, kuch pital ke jalte hue diye (oil lamps) aur taaze gulabi kamal ke phool bikhre hue hain, jo vatavaran ko aur bhi pavitra bana rahe hain. Roshni bahut hi soft aur divya hai, aur unke mukh-mandal ke peeche se ek sunehri aabha (golden halo) nikal rahi hai, jo is poore drishya ko ek adhyatmik aur shantimay anubhav deti hai.
Maa Saraswati se judi kai lokpriya kathayein aur manyatayein hain jo unke mahatva ko aur gehra karti hain. Ek prasiddh katha ke anusaar, jab Bhagwan Brahma ne srishti ki rachna ki, toh woh bahut shaant aur khamosh thi. Apni rachna mein is neerastha ko dekhkar woh chintit hue. Tab unhone apne mukh se Devi Saraswati ko utpann kiya. Jaise hi Devi Saraswati prakat huin, unhone apni Veena se aisi madhur dhun chhedi ki poore brahmand mein jeevan aur urja ka sanchaar ho gaya. Ped-paudhe, pashu-pakshi, sabhi mein chetna aa gayi. Isliye unhe 'Vagdevi' yaani vaani ki devi bhi kaha jaata hai. Unhi ke kaaran srishti ko swar aur sanskriti mili. Bharat mein Vasant Panchami ka tyohar khaas taur par Maa Saraswati ko samarpit hai. Is din log peele rang ke vastra pehante hain, jo vasant ritu aur gyan ke uday ka prateek hai. Chhote bachchon ki vidya aarambh (akshar-abhyasam) isi din karayi jaati hai, jahan unhe pehla akshar likhna sikhaya jaata hai. Log apni pustakein, sangeet ke vaadyayantra (musical instruments), aur kala se judi cheezein unke charanon mein rakhte hain aur aashirwad maangte hain. Unka ek mool mantra, 'Om Aim Saraswatyai Namah', gyan aur buddhi prapt karne ke liye jaapa jaata hai. Unka vahan, hansa, kewal vivek ka hi nahin, balki adhyatmik unnati ka bhi prateek hai. Woh hamesha shwet kamal par baithti hain, jo kichad mein khilne ke bawajood nirmal rehta hai. Yeh hamein sandesh deta hai ki hum sansarik buraiyon ke beech rehte hue bhi apni aatma ki shuddhta aur gyan ko banaye rakh sakte hain.
