Maa Durga, jinko hum sabhi Adishakti yaani aadi shakti ke roop mein jaante hain, Hindu dharm mein sabse poojniya deviyon mein se ek hain. Unka swaroop ek maa ka hai, jo apne bachchon ki raksha ke liye kuch bhi kar sakti hain. Unka naam hi unke kaam ko darshata hai - 'Durga' ka matlab hai 'jise paar karna mushkil ho' yaani ek aisa kila jise koi bhed na sake.
